Virginia Beach Police said 26 people have been arrested during a protest at the Oceanfront Monday night.
Unlike the previous night, no property damage or injuries were reported. Information on the charges of those arrested was not immediately available.
Virginia Beach Police responded to the Town Center area to disperse two groups of demonstrators totaling about 100 people who were gathered there after the 8 p.m. curfew went into effect.
Officials said officers shut down roads and worked for several hours to clear the area. There were no other places in the city where crowds appeared to protest.
Gov. Ralph Northam authorized a curfew for Virginia Beach after city officials requested the order, which is the same as what the Richmond received on Sunday.
The curfew will be from 8 p.m. – 6 a.m., effective until Thursday.
