Police need information about this deadly shooting

NEWPORT NEWS — Police here are piecing together the circumstances surrounding the shooting death woman Wednesday morning.

She was identified as Breonna T. Patterson, 20.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Mytilene Drive at 3:59 a.m. in reference to gunshots heard in the area.

“Upon the arrival of police personnel, they checked the interior of a residence and located a black female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” said Sgt. Randal Bailey. “The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.”

Further information about the incident was not immediately released.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about the shooting to call the Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
