NEWPORT NEWS — The police department is organizing three neighborhood meetings – one in each district.
Officers are looking for input on how they can better serve the city and are asking the community “to help in establishing a partnership that fosters safety and security where you live and play,” police said in a news release.
Newport News Police Chief Steve Drew will be at the meetings:
South community meeting: Aug. 20 from 5-7 p.m. at the Piggly Wiggly Community Room (3101 Jefferson Ave.)
Central community meeting: Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church (12716 Warwick Blvd.)
North community meeting: Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at New Beech Grove Baptist Church (361 Beechmont Drive)
