YORKTOWN — The upper deck of the two story parking terrace at Riverwalk Landing, located at 330 Water Street, is scheduled to undergo routine maintenance starting Monday, Aug. 16.
The repairs on the structure include: the application of a traffic-bearing membrane, installation of new expansion joints, replacement of sealants, repairing cracks in the concrete, and pavement markings and line striping. All of which will help maximize the lifespan of the terrace.
In the meantime, there will be no parking on the upper deck of the structure and the lower level will have limited capacity for the duration of the project.
The repairs have a projected completion date of Oct. 1, according to a press release from the York County public affairs office.
In anticipation of limited parking around the riverfront, the Yorktown Trolley, a free bus service that goes between Riverwalk Landing and different parking lots around Yorktown, will run an additional trolley seven days a week through Labor Day. After labor day it will run every weekend until the repairs are completed.
On weekends and during events, attendant will be on hand to direct drivers to alternate parking lots. During the Sounds of Summer concert series on Thursday nights, the trolleys will run from 5 to 10 p.m. between Water Street and the parking lots located at County Administration and the York-Poquoson Courthouse, both located on Ballard Street.
