Bach FM in Williamsburg will become All-News 102. Here’s the skinny

WILLIAMSBURG — Local Voice announced Wednesday that All-News 102 will replace Bach FM beginning June 1.

The new format will be the historic district’s only all-news radio station powered by 10 journalists in the Southside, Hampton-Newport News region and Williamsburg.

The station’s morning and afternoon drive features the following: Around the Globe, Breakthroughs in Health Care, Newsmakers — an interview with influential newsmakers — and the Shipyard Report. All News also deliver in-depth coverage of business news and the latest sports, weather, and traffic reports.

All-News 102 is dedicated to featuring local and regional news from a wide variety of partners and sources, including its sister online newspapers — Southside Daily, Hampton Newport News Daily, and Williamsburg Yorktown Daily. The station also forged a partnership with WVEC, 13NewsNow, so it will be sharing content from and combining resources with them on special news initiatives.

All-News can be heard on 101.9 FM, 102.1 FM, 1490 AM in the Hampton Roads area, and now on 107.9 on the Peninsula.

The station is led by general manager and news director Dee Patel. Patel was the news director for KYW Newsradio 1060 for more than a decade.

She’s had a variety of positions at KYW Newsradio, including senior producer of the groundbreaking, Emmy-nominated television headline newscast, “KYW This Morning” on UPN 57, and writer for CBS 3 Eyewitness News.
