The city is accepting Tuthill Scholarship applications. Here’s what that entails

VIRGINIA BEACH – The city’s Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for the Bartley E. Tuthill Scholarship Program in the amount of $2,000.

The purpose of the scholarship is to promote the education of a graduating high school senior or college undergraduate who is a resident of Virginia Beach and is interested in/or studying technical fields associated with agriculture, natural resource conservation or environmental sciences, officials said.

Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in or have applied to a college undergraduate level curriculum. Applicants will document their class ranking and have a 3.0 or greater grade point average. The applicant’s most recent official high school or college transcript and a copy of the acceptance letter from the college that the applicant will attend listing the major must accompany the application.

Applications can be obtained on Scholarship Central at www.vbschools.com/scholarship/index.asp.

Applications must be submitted to the Virginia Beach Department of Agriculture, Municipal Center, Bldg. 14, Virginia Beach, VA 23456 by May 10.
