Hear the story of Thomas Jefferson’s three daughters at this lecture series

The Slover Library in Norfolk will be hosting Catherine Kerrison, author of Jefferson’s Daughters: Three Sisters, White and Black, in a Young America, as part of the Catherine Lee Brinkley Memorial Lecture series on Jan. 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Step back in time and hear the untold story of Thomas Jefferson’s three daughters; two white and free, one black and enslaved and the divergent paths they forged in a newly independent America. The lecture and reception are free.

Kerrison is a professor of history at Villanova University, where she teaches courses in Colonial and Revolutionary America and women’s and gender history.

She holds a PhD in American history from the College of William and Mary.

The lecture is part of the free series, Catherine Lee Brinkley Memorial Lecture Series: A Librarian’s Legacy.
