Hampton Police seek info on Sunday deadly shooting

HAMPTON – Police here are asking the public for information in connection with a shooting Sunday night that left a man dead and another injured.

At approximately 11:29 p.m., dispatchers received a call about a shooting in the 900 block of Ridgeway Avenue.

There, responding officers found “two adult males in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds.”

One of the men, Dorsey L. Stephenson, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to a local hospital “to be treated for what appears to be non-life threatening injuries,” police said.

The identity of the injured man was not immediately released.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Hampton Police Division at 757–727–6111 or the Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
