If you’re looking to play basketball or walk the track at the James City County Recreation Center this week, you may need to put those plans on hold.
The James City County Recreation Center’s basketball court and track will be closed for annual floor refinishing starting Monday, the county said in a news release. The recreation center is located at 5301 Longhill Road.
The walking track will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 20.
The gym will reopen Monday, Nov. 26.
Many scheduled group fitness classes will be relocated to the center’s community rooms in the left wing. Those needing more details should stop by the front desk first.
Center members with respiratory issues should also use caution because there will be a strong odor during the floor refinishing process.
“We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience while we make improvements to your center,” the news release said.
