VIRGINIA BEACH — November is Alzheimer’s Awareness month and Virginia Beach is participating in the effort to raise awareness of this disease that affects more than 5 million Americans and millions more worldwide, according to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s website.
On Nov. 8, The Clarknexsen Tower in Town Center of Virginia Beach, will light up teal as part of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s Light the World in Teal initiative.
The initiative takes place each year during Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
In addition to snapping photos of the Clarknexsen Tower and posting them to your social media using hashtag #AFALightTheWorldInTeal, there are many ways you can get involved this month.
The AFA’s website has a variety of options for you to “go teal” in honor of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
They have a social media image you can share, a Facebook Profile Frame, cause bracelets, links to support programs and services that you can donate to, and more.
Check out their website for all the ways you can help raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s this month.
