Teen dead following Monday night shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK — A 15-year-old died in the hospital following a shooting Monday night.

Police said they are investigating the 8 p.m. incident – no other details about the shooting were immediately released.

Tuesday afternoon, police arrested Naquan M. Alexander, 20, of the 900 block of Wilson Road, in connection with the shooting. He is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm.

Dispatchers received a call about a “gunshot disturbance” in the 1300 block of Herbert Collins Way. When police arrived, they “found the teenager suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.”

The teen was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died from his injuries.
