A wet, soggy Monday morning is just the beginning of a wet, soggy week in Greater Williamsburg.
The National Weather Service’s Wakefield office is forecasting 1 to 2 inches of rainfall across the region through Wednesday, said weather service meteorologist Matt Schalora.
Rain will continue to fall through Friday, and maybe even the weekend, he said.
“It’s basically a 50 to 60 percent chance of rain every day this week,” Schalora said. “It could dry up over the weekend but both days are still about 30 percent.”
He said the heaviest rains will be confined to most afternoons in the coming days. Those looking for a silver lining can note that the National Weather Service is not forecasting flooding this week and high temperatures should remain below 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
“We’re not expecting severe weather, but could get isolated thunderstorms,” Schalora said.
