James City County is looking for qualified applicants to become local police officers.
Through Aug. 5, the county is accepting applications for law enforcement officers certified by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, James City County said in a news release.
“Join the James City County Police Department and join a proactive team dedicated to providing comprehensive law enforcement services and programs to the citizens of our community,” the release said.
Officers may be given opportunities for specialized assignments, training and career development.
The county is looking for applicants with “outstanding communication skills,” community values that display a commitment to quality of life, customer service and cultural diversity.
Minorities and women are also encouraged to apply, the release said.
