VIRGINIA BEACH — The search for Bellamy Malaki Gamboa continues — friends, family volunteers and a dedicated tight-knit community are searching non-stop for the 39-year-old mother who was last seen on July 1.
Her disappearance has inspired a social media movement, including the hashtag #BringBellamyHome.
According to the official Facebook page BRING Bellamy HOME, authorities have not stopped searching and while the Virginia Beach Police Department is working hard, family, friends, and volunteers only have a limited amount of time to work with the official search teams. The page stresses that working with the authorities is the most effective method to find Gamboa.

But who is Bellamy Gamboa?
Although a Virginian at heart and birth, Gamboa moved to Japan at a young age, with her father, who was in the U.S. Navy. She attended the Sullivan’s Elementary School in Yokosuka. She then went to Zama High School in Atsugi, then graduated from Kinnick High School in Yokosuka in 1996.
Her younger sister, Charisse Gamboa, describes Bellamy as a fun loving and passionate mother of four. Expressive and vocal, but also someone who prefers to keep her life private.
Charisse Gamboa said she admires her sister’s, “strength and her will to keep her children safe and happy. (As kids) she was always looking out for me growing up, especially when we attended the same schools. Regardless of distance, she keeps her quality friends close to her heart. She puts her children first and usually keeps her life private. Her goal in life is to watch her children grow and succeed.”
Bellamy loves animals, her favorite cuisine is Filipino food, and she is addicted to coffee ice cream and Sprite, her sister said. Her favorite music genres include Pop and R&B. Her most recent read was Paula Hawkins novel, The Girl on the Train, which turned out to also be her favorite book. She also loves writing, reading, and being around friends and family.
Bellamy means the world to her family and friends — and now, even strangers.
