VIRGINIA BEACH — Police here are investigating two separate shootings Wednesday and Thursday at the Oceanfront.
The first incident just outside a hotel on the 1300 block of Atlantic Avenue involved two people Wednesday.
Then at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, police said six people — “two adult females and four adult males” — were shot in the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue.
Their injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
The six people were walking “with the flow of pedestrian traffic on the west side of Atlantic Avenue when they heard the gunfire and were struck,” police said.
“None of the victims reported any problems during the night with anyone that could have led to the shooting,” police wrote in a news release. “The victims were unable to provide information as to the identity of the shooter.”
Police said “four subjects were detained” in connection with that incident, but were released after being interviewed.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about the incidents to call Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
