Residents around Jamestown will hear louder than usual sounds coming from the settlement next week — but it won’t be the sounds of a revolution.
Rock the Dock, an annual fundraiser for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, will kick off at 7 p.m. May 18 at settlement. The event will feature the ’80s band the Deloreans, as well as food and libations from Old City Barbecue, the Virginia Beer Co. and the Williamsburg Winery.
In addition, costumed interpreters will be on hand for tours of the settlement’s replica of the Susan Constant, one of three ships that brought settlers to Jamestown during the voyage of 1606-07.
Tickets, at $30, can be purchased online or at the door. Special couples tickets are available for $50 through May 17.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Tents, canopies, coolers and outside food or drink are not permitted.
The event is sponsored by Local Voice: 92.3FM The Tide, 107.9 BachFM and Williamsburg Yorktown Daily — WYDaily.com; Second Street, An American Bistro; and East Coast Entertainment.
Additional sponsors include Sue McSwain, Realtor at Liz Moore & Associates; LARS Group Inc.; Linda Baker; Sue and John Gerdelman; Virginia Health Services Inc.; and Williams Landscape & Design Inc.
