Attention students: There’s another snow day in store for you on Wednesday.
York County
The York County School Division has canceled school for Wednesday due to road conditions after last week’s snowstorm, according to a division news alert.
Many roads are inaccessible to bus transportation, the alert said.
Twelve-month custodial and maintenance staff should report on a two-hour delay or use liberal leave.
All activities and practices are also canceled.
“While we know this extended school closure can prove [difficult] for some families, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority in setting school schedules,” the alert said. “The division’s road assessment team members have traveled dozens of roads throughout the entire county and many roads continue to have icy conditions. Based on the forecasted overnight temperatures, road conditions are not expected to improve sufficiently to allow bus transportation tomorrow.”
WJCC
WJCC Schools will be closed Wednesday due to possibly snowy and icy road conditions, according to a school division news alert.
Twelve-month employees should report two hours late.
Although some snow and ice melted Tuesday, cold temperatures will cause it to refreeze, creating hazardous conditions, the alert said.
We would like nothing more than to reopen schools on Wednesday, but we do not believe we can transport students safely. Our closure decision is also based on concerns about the safety of our staff, parent and high school drivers.
