VIRGINIA BEACH — Three Virginia Beach police officers were taken to a local hospital after they began to feel sick following their response to a call for a medical emergency.
Virginia Beach Police Department officers helped a person who was in cardiac arrest in the 1300 block of Sapphire Drive around 5:11 p.m. on Tuesday. Shortly after that, three officers were taken to a hospital because they said they felt sick, according to the VBPD.
Although the police officers were evaluated and released, the Virginia Beach Fire Department’s hazmat team is standing by to determine if there is any hazardous substance at the scene, according to the VBPD.
