Police: 42-year-old man hit, injured by vehicle on Croaker Road

Police are investigating after a 42-year-old man was hit by a car early Tuesday morning in James City County.

The man was transported to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, police spokeswoman Stephanie Williams said.

James City County Police responded to the 8100 block of Croaker Road around 6:24 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a call about a vehicle and pedestrian crash, Williams said.

Williams said a vehicle was traveling southbound on Croaker Road, merging to get onto Interstate 64, when the driver struck a man walking on the roadway.

Police said it was dark outside and the 42-year-old man was wearing dark clothing.

The man was transported to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond with injuries not considered life-threatening.

No charges have been filed against the driver, Williams said.

The crash is still under investigation.
