Williamsburg residents will have the chance to meet and share a cup of coffee with their new police chief and other city officers this week.
The Williamsburg Police Department will be holding a meet and greet called “Coffee with a Cop” at Aroma’s Coffeehouse Wednesday, according to a police department press release. Residents can stop by between 8 and 10 a.m. for coffee and conversation with local law enforcement.
New Police Chief Sean Dunn will be present. Dunn, who was appointed in June, and the other officers will be on hand to answer questions, listen to concerns and get to know their community’s citizens, according to the release.
In addition to Dunn and other members of the command staff, other Williamsburg officers — both on- and off-duty — will stop by, according to police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley.
The last Coffee with a Cop was held in August. What had been an annual event may now take place a few times a year, he said.
“We’re trying to have them more often so we can meet more of our public,” Riley said. “We look forward to meeting them and answering any questions they may have.”
Riley added the location was changed as well. Previous Coffee with a Cop events had been held at Capitol Pancake House, but Aromas is closer to the center of town.
Aromas is located at 431 Prince George St. in Williamsburg.
