VIRGINIA BEACH — Five people have been arrested after police say they invaded a Virginia Beach home, assaulted one of the residents and stole money and electronics.

Two men were robbed at a Virginia Beach home just after 11 p.m. on July 26. Just moments before they heard the robbers knock on their front door, the men were eating dinner together.

When the knock came, the men answered the door together. That’s when four men and a woman forced their way into the home. At least two of the robbers were armed with knives, according to documents filed in Virginia Beach Circuit Court.

After he was hit once, one of the men was able to escape the home and call the police. As he reported the crime, he watched the robbers take televisions, money, a PlayStation gaming system, controller and speakers out of the house and load the property into a silver sedan, court documents show.

The other man was forced into a bedroom and assaulted while the other robbers ransacked the house.

During their investigation, police were able to get fingerprints from a television inside one of the bedrooms. The prints matched 25-year-old Taquan Lashon Jones, who was arrested on Aug. 1.

Jones was charged with abduction, burglary, robbery and other charges.

Also arrested with Jones’ 25-year-old girlfriend, Charmaine Mitchell. Police say the day after the group robbed the house, Mitchell pawned a PlayStation 4 with a controller and games at Cool Stuff, located at 4239 Holland Road.

Mitchell told police that she, Jones, 36-year-old Derek George Cason and two other men robbed the home. She also admitted to selling the gaming system at Cool Stuff, and said that there was also a stolen iPhone and television at the Pinewood Drive home she shared with Jones and Cason, court documents show.

Police searched the home on Pinewood Drive and found a black phone, a white iPhone 5 and a Vizio television.

Mitchell was arrested on Aug. 1, and charged with robbery, conspiracy and burglary.

Cason was arrested the same day, and charged with abduction, breaking and entering, robbery and conspiracy.

Two other men were also arrested in connection with the robbery: 24-year-old Regenald Dayquane Mosely and 28-year-old Lance Eugene Bowden Ellis. Both men live in Virginia Beach.

Mosely was charged with abduction, breaking and entering, robbery and conspiracy. Ellis was charged with abduction, breaking and entering and two counts of robbery.
