Police: Utility trailer stolen near Virginia Capital Trail

James City County Police are attempting to locate a trailer that was stolen at the end of July.

An unknown person or persons took a 2004 Superior dual-axle flatbed utility trailer from a location near Chickahominy Riverfront Park between July 28 and 31, according to a James City County Police news release.

The trailer was last seen near 2874 John Tyler Highway, where crews were working on the Virginia Capital Trail, the release said. The trailer is owned by a private company that was contracted to work on the trail.

The trailer is 18 feet long, black and has a yellow Renegade toolbox on the front. The toolbox had various types of tools in it. The Virginia license plate is “901587TR.”
