A local sheriff’s office is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the name of a 12-week-old male bloodhound.
The puppy, which was donated to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, will begin training next week and has yet to be named.
“We would like to welcome our newest Deputy!” read a post on the department’s Facebook page. “This is where we need your help! We are looking for a name for him.”

The puppy is the newest member to the department’s K9 unit, the post states.
His name will be selected through an online survey, which is available here. The survey will be available through Friday.
The sheriff’s office will select their top three suggestions and then send the list back out for a final vote.
The department will also hold several public meet and greets with the new deputy. Information about the time and location of the meetings will be posted at a later date.
