NORFOLK — Three people were injured during shootings that took place within 16 hours of each other, police say.
The shootings happened on Tuesday and Wednesday between the 500 block of East Brambleton Avenue and the 700 block of Lincoln Street. Those areas are less than a quarter of a mile from each other.
The first shooting happened around 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday night in the 500 block of East Brambleton Avenue. A 20-year-old man was walking along the street when he was shot. Officers took him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he is expected to survive his injury, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
Soon after, a woman called the NPD and said she’d been grazed by a bullet while standing outside in the 700 block of Lincoln Street. Medics treated her at the scene.
About 16 hours later, the NPD responded to a third shooting victim. A 19-year-old man was shot in the 700 block of Lincoln Street and taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
He is expected to survive his injury.
