James City County Police are investigating after a body was found Monday morning near a wooded area along Richmond Road.
Officers responded around 8:41 a.m. to a report of a body in the 5300 block of Richmond Road, according to police. They found the body of a 73-year-old Williamsburg man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His identity has not been released while police work to notify his next of kin.
Police have not released the cause of death and said the circumstances are under investigation. They also said there is no indication of danger to the public.
