Beach stages to feature 311, The Wallflowers, 3 Doors Down

VIRGINIA BEACH — The 24th American Music Festival will feature performances from five headlining bands and a variety of free shows at the Oceanfront this September.

The beach concert series will kick off on Sept. 1 with headliner 311 after the band’s show was canceled last year due to Hurricane Hermine.

Other headliners on the 5th Street stage include 3 Doors Down and Rebelution.

The Wallflowers, best known for their Grammy-winning album, “Bringing Down the Horse,” will play Sept. 3.

Daily tickets to shows on the 5th Street stage are $20 for general admission and $40 for the preferred viewing section, which is reserved in the front and includes separate vendors and restrooms.

Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.

Weekend VIP passes, which include a ticket in the front row for each concert and two free beers or wine, are $199 each. Day VIP passes that can be used for one show are $99.

Weekend VIP passes will be $150 and day passes will be $60 from July 14-31.

There will also be free concerts throughout the weekend at the 17th and 24th Street stages.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and all shows will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be a variety of food and beverage vendors.
