17-year-old killed, three arrested in Norfolk home invasion

NORFOLK — A 17-year-old was killed after he and three others attempted to burglarize an apartment Friday morning, police said.

The incident happened just after midnight at the Breezy Point Apartments in the 8600 block of Glen Myrtle Avenue. Responding officers found Kuwan Robinson, of North Chesterfield, outside the apartments. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly after the incident, Jamel Bridges, 20, of Richmond, arrived at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center with a gunshot wound. Officers went to the hospital where they detained D’Marco Scott, 19, of North Chesterfield, and a 15-year-old.

Police have not released the name of the 15-year-old because of his age.

The four individuals entered the apartment in an effort to burglarize it, resulting in the death of Robinson and Bridges being shot, police said.

Bridges, Scott and the juvenile have all been charged with armed burglary, conspiracy and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Bridges and Scott are being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond. The 15-year-old is being held in the Norfolk Juvenile Detention Center.

Police say there are not looking for any other suspects.
