NORFOLK — A teenager was killed during a double shooting near the NEON District on Wednesday night.
Kaison Mitchell, 17, of Portsmouth, was shot and killed in the 300 block of E. Olney Road around 8:20 p.m. A girl, also 17, was shot as well, but is expected to survive her injures, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
Both teenagers were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where the boy was pronounced dead.
The 17-year-old boy is the fourth person to die after being shot in Norfolk in the last week. Three of the four victims were minors, with the youngest being 4-year-old named Rayvon Messer Jr.
