Uber driver accused of raping passenger in Virginia Beach

An Uber driver has been charged with raping a female passenger over the weekend in Virginia Beach.

Police say Sewanou Bisile Yoro, 34, picked up a woman in a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer and drove her to the Bay Colony area of Virginia Beach. He is accused of sexually assaulting her in that neighborhood between 9:34 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Yoro has been charged with abduction, rape and aggravated assault. A preliminary hearing for the case has been scheduled on May 4 in Virginia Beach General District Court.
