VIRGINIA BEACH — Police are investigating after a Hampton Roads native and popular video game personality died suddenly last weekend during a 24-hour live stream on Twitch.
Thirty-five-year-old Brian Vigneault, also known to the gaming community by his username “PoShYbRiD,” died on Feb. 19 in the middle of a streaming session. He was playing a game called “World of Tanks,” according to a GoFundMe page.
Twitch is an online streaming service for people who play video games.
Police found Vigneault dead in a residence located in the 1000 block of Glen Lochen Drive around 7:50 p.m., said Virginia Beach Master Police Officer Tonya Pierce.

Pierce said the police department was also told Vigneault had played video games during a 24-hour session.
According to his obituary, Vigneault had three children. He was known for his automobile expertise and had a talent for solving mechanical problems.
Vigneault belonged to a video game group called “FAME” who released a statement on Facebook Monday.
“Sad news from Virginia beach [sic], one of the most famous NA streamers and a member of our clan Poshybrid has passed away at the age of 35,” the statement read. “We just can not find words to describe how sad is this moment for all of us and for sure this game will not be the same without the legend. Maybe the saddest lines can not really be written, and the saddest thoughts can not really be uttered.”
The Virginia Beach homicide unit is investigating this case. Pierce said Vigneault’s cause of death is still unknown.
“At this time there is no suspicion or foul play suspected,” Pierce said.
