Police responded to the IHOP, located in the 1400 block of Richmond Road, around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, Williamsburg Police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley said.

The restaurant’s manager reported two of her employees, Char Branch Jr., 30, and Dietra Dixon, 23, both of Newport News, had engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical one, Riley said.

The argument took place in the kitchen of the business, he said.

When the altercation became physical, a third employee, Raven Brown, 30, of Williamsburg, joined in the confrontation, Riley said.

The following day, all three individuals were charged with assault, then released on summons.
