More Than 1,500 Without Power as Storm, High Winds Persist

With a large storm front continuing to move through the area, rain and high winds have caused power outages in the City of Williamsburg, York County and James City County.

York County has 500 Dominion Virginia Power customers without power as of 12:15 a.m. Thursday. James City County has about 46 customers in the dark, while one customer has an outage in the City of Williamsburg.

A tornado watch for the area was extended from 9 to 11 p.m. Wednesday.
