Firefighters extinguished a blaze that started in lumber processing equipment at Lumber Liquidators early Thursday morning.
The James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department received the call around 12:03 a.m., according to a news release from the department. When fire units arrived, the blaze was visible.
After the fire was extinguished, firefighters took “a great amount of time” to check the sawdust handling equipment to make sure the fire had not reached it, the release said.
Damage to the building was light but “considerable” to the equipment involved. The damage value estimate has not yet been released.
Employees were on site at the time of the fire, but no injuries were reported.
