The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man reported he was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday at a hotel on Bypass Road in Upper York County.
The victim told deputies he met a man at the Library Tavern in Williamsburg sometime before the robbery. That man told him there were some women at the hotel. He met the man in the parking lot around 3:45 a.m. Saturday and followed him inside, at which point the man robbed him at gunpoint in a hallway on the second floor, said Lt. Dennis Ivey of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.
Ivey said the robber, described as a heavy-set black male, got away with the man’s wallet. Anyone with information should contact Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
