POQUOSON 一 A new antique market opened July 4, bringing 25 vendors and a mix of vintage treasures, collectibles and handmade goods to the former Sutton River Antiques space.
The shop is owned by Air Force veteran Tara Spear, who previously sold items on sites such as eBay and Mercari. She said opening a thrift store had long been her goal. She also began as a vendor at Sutton River Antiques before taking over the business and renaming it Twice Told.
“Every treasure deserves another chapter,” Spear said, repeating the store’s tagline.
The shop features 25 vendors, and Spear operates her own booth selling items ranging from vintage clothing and toys to Victorian-era pieces, along with handmade goods, plants and nautical-themed décor.
“One thing we’re really excited about is that we have what we’re calling a man cave. So we have an area dedicated just to guy stuff for all the boyfriends and husbands that have to be drug along to the antique store with their girls,” Spear said.
Twice Told is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Updates are available on the shop’s Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages.
