The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help finding a man believed to have attacked another man after a road rage incident on Saturday.
YPSO Lt. Dennis Ivey said the incident began on Bypass Road in the City of Williamsburg when a white Chevrolet or GMC sport utility vehicle began tailgating the victim’s vehicle. The victim said he brake checked the other vehicle. It then pulled in front of his vehicle and brake checked him. They continued to tailgate and brake check until they reached the area of James-York Plaza on Merrimac Trail, where they pulled into the parking lot.
Both the driver of the vehicle and the man driving the SUV got out and began “exchanging words” before the SUV driver attacked the victim. A teenager in the SUV — described as a white male wearing a blue T-shirt with a wolf on the front — intervened and broke up the fight.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries not life-threatening. The assailant is described as a white, Hispanic or Middle Eastern man with bad teeth who is 5’7” and 160 pounds.
