This coming week will be a relatively quiet one in Williamsburg government, but should provide a great opportunity to catch up on what the proposed budget holds in store and figuring out what you might like to occupy your – and your family’s – summer days.
Time for a Revolutionary Rumble
If you see more fit young people than usual around town this coming weekend, it’s likely because the Revolutionary Rumble is in town April 26-28.
The Rumble, hosted by the Williamsburg Volleyball Club, is in its 11th year. More than 200 Junior Olympic Volleyball Club teams will converge on the Historic Triangle at venues throughout the area; click here to see where they’ll play.
Admission is free to all the events, and spectators are encouraged. Coolers are not permitted inside venues, but concessions will be available.
Celebrate Earth Day at Waller Mill Park
The city will observe its fifth annual Earth Day celebration at Waller Mill Park on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be demonstrations of ways to live a little more “green,” children’s activities, vendors, concessions and much more. If you’ve been looking for a place to recycle tennis shoes, cell phones and/or plastic bags, bring them to Waller Mill on Saturday.
Regional Issues Group to Meet
The Historic Triangle’s heavy hitters – its local governments and officials, along with tourism and industry representatives – will gather Tuesday morning for the Regional Issues Committee meeting.
The group will hear a report from the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority and updates from the Historic Triangle Collaborative, Williamsburg Area Chamber and Tourism Alliance and planning directors from all three localities will discuss the comprehensive plan and its implementation status.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Williamsburg Municipal Building, 401 Lafayette St., in the third floor conference room.
The group meets quarterly. More information can be found by clicking here.
