Man struck, killed by train in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG — A man was found lying on railroad tracks near Lafayette Street and killed by a passing train early Tuesday morning, according to Williamsburg police.

At about 2:31 a.m. June 16, police and fire crews responded to the 600 block of Lafayette Street after a report that a person had been struck by a train.

Investigators said the man was lying on the tracks when he was hit by a westbound CSX freight train. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as Brian Beadle, 38, of York County.

Police are still investigating the incident.
