Palace Plaza, a York County strip mall located behind Pizzeria Uno’s and Bassett’s Christmas Shop on Bypass Road, has sold for $610,000.
The new owner, George Polyzos, envisions a new use for the 16-unit retail center: offices, medical services and dentistry. He said he already has tenants interested in moving into Palace Plaza, which currently has one tenant: Kielbasa Euro Deli, a retailer of Polish goods and foods.
“It’s built extremely well,” Polyzos said of the building. “That’s what drove me here.”
The current location for Palace Plaza may have contributed to the lack of businesses currently in place: Cars on Bypass Road can’t see the building, and it has no signage on that road. He said he wants to explore putting a sign on Bypass Road to better publicize the 22,610 square foot strip mall.
Polyzos, who said he owns strip malls in Norfolk, Newport News and Virginia Beach, said he is excited about having an operation in the Historic Triangle. He said he has been in contact with a small gym and a bakery that delivers that is also interested in opening in Palace Plaza.
Cushman & Wakefield|Thalhimer, a commercial real estate broker, originally announced the sale. Polyzos Family Investments, LLC, acquired the facility from C-111 Asset Management.
