Williamsburg Police have charged three suspects in a Jan. 26 armed robbery during which the robbers wore stocking masks.
Arrested Wednesday was 18-year-old Kareem Davon Christian of the 1800 block of Ferrell Drive in James City County. He faces charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, obstruction of justice and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
He is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
Two juveniles were also involved, police said. Their identities are being withheld, but both have been charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and giving false identification to police.
During the robbery, which happened just after midnight in the 300 block of Dunning Street, two robbers approached the victims, who were in a stopped vehicle on Dunning near Burbank Street. One of the men displayed a handgun and the other man had one hand in a pocket in such a way that suggested there could have been a weapon in his pocket. They took an undisclosed amount of money from the victims and fled the area, according to a news release from the Williamsburg Police Department.
Nobody was hurt in the robbery. After the suspects fled, the victims also fled and called the police. The release said they described the robbers as two black males wearing stocking masks.
Police said they were grateful to the media and public for their help in identifying the suspects.
