Organizers behind Yorktown’s annual lighted boat parade recently announced the winners of this year’s competition.
The festivities, which took place Dec. 5, included the boat parade in addition to a bonfire at Yorktown Beach, complimentary apple cider for the crowd and performances from Yorktown Chorale and the Fifes and Drums of York Town.
Boats of all shapes and sizes took part in the parade portion of the evening, with more 20 entrants for this year’s contest.
Jim Blotter’s sailboat “Wind Swept” took home “Best in Show,” decked out with a glowing Santa, candy cane arch and many festive white lights adorning the ship.
Damon Gross and George Lewis took home second and third place, respectively.
Parade organizers were thrilled with this year’s turnout and are looking forward to continuing the tradition next year.
