Longhill Grove Apartments Shooting Suspect Turns Himself In

UPDATE: Fenton turned himself in at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail late Monday evening. He is currently being held without bond pending arraignment according to James City County Police. 

JAMES CITY COUNTY— Arrest warrants have been issued in connection with a Feb. 17 shooting that left a James City County man seriously injured, according to the James City County Police Department.

Police said warrants have been obtained for Eric Fenton, 38, of the 200 block of Barlow Road in Williamsburg, in connection with the shooting in the 3900 block of Meadow Grove Way.

Officers initially responded to the area at approximately 7:19 p.m. Feb. 17 for reports of a parking lot altercation followed by gunfire. Upon arrival, they located a 31-year-old James City County man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Fenton is charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
