HAMPTON ROADS— A new event designed to challenge and inspire the next generation of athletes who want to grow as competitors is coming to the Virginia Peninsula this summer.
The inaugural Williamsburg Sports Festival will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Warhill Sports Complex, offering male and female middle and high school student-athletes a high-impact, one-day experience focused on the whole person—skills, character, faith, leadership and purpose.
Hosted in partnership with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), the festival will bring together students (ages 12-18) entering grades 6 through 12 fall of 2026 for skills development, competition, position specific drills, shared meals and an evening program centered on purpose and personal growth.
Participants will experience hands-on instruction—led by elite coaches and athletes—in one of seven sports: boys’ and girls’ basketball and soccer, baseball, softball and football.
“This event is about more than just improving skills on the field,” said Matt Kerr, Peninsula Area Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. “It’s about creating space for student-athletes to grow in confidence, build meaningful relationships and be encouraged in who they are both as competitors and as individuals.”
The event will begin with sports clinics in the afternoon, followed by a community dinner and a closing program featuring speakers and inspirational content designed to challenge athletes to pursue excellence on and off the field.
Organizers say the Williamsburg Sports Festival was created to meet a growing need for intentional programming that supports student-athletes beyond competition.
“We see so many talented young athletes across the Peninsula, and this is an opportunity to invest in them in a deeper way,” said George White, Chair of the Williamsburg Sports Festival. “Our goal is to bring the community together to support these students in their sport, as well as in their leadership, their character and their future.”
The festival is expected to draw athletes from across Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton and surrounding communities, creating a unique environment where competition and camaraderie go hand in hand.
The Williamsburg Sports Festival is open to all middle and high school student-athletes in the region. Registration is now open.
