JAMES CITY COUNTY — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will activate the permanent traffic signals on Longhill Road at the intersection of Devon and Olde Towne roads as early as Wednesday, March 30.

According to a press release from VDOT, the activation of the signals will open all turn lanes and through lanes in both directions.

Additionally, the previously closed long-term through lane on the remaining portion of the Longhill Road corridor, including the westbound through lane at the Williamsburg West Drive intersection, will open to traffic under modified traffic conditions.

For the safety of motorists and project crews, lane closures will continue to take place as needed to allow crews to make final adjustments to the road widening project. Regardless, at least one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction.
