Pedestrian Killed in James City County Crash Identified

Police have identified the James City County man who died after being struck by two car on Dec. 7. (WYDaily Media)

JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County Police (JCCPD) has identified the man who died after being struck by two vehicles in the 6400 block of Centerville Road around 5:40 p.m. Dec. 7.

William Thomas Holland, Jr., 68, of James City County was wearing dark clothing and walking partially in the roadway when he was struck by a 1997 Chevrolet SUV. Police believe Holland was then struck by another vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck, according to a press release from JCCPD spokesperson Stephanie Williams.

Both drivers are residents of James City County and neither reported seeing Holland in the road. There are sidewalks in the area where Holland was struck, but he was not using them.

Paramedics took Holland to Sentara Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

Centerville Road was shutdown for around three hours while the police investigated the incident.

According to the JCCPD release, the incident remains under investigation, but no charges are expected in relation to the crash.
