WILLIAMSBURG — Grab some gal pals and join the Williamsburg Winery for a Galantine’s Day Sip and Shop Celebration on Monday, Feb. 10 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
“Can you combine cozy with exciting? Absolutely! And, you will see a perfect example of it at the Galantine’s Sip and Shop!” exclaimed Maureen Anderson.
Anderson, who owns Tasha’s Own, making artisan soaps, and also manages Toano Open Air Market, understands community and collaboration. She has been working with the winery to bring new vendors and events to the property.
“They (Williamsburg Winery) have such a heart for the community and really love promoting local artisans. This event is going to be so fun. I have chosen certain vendors from my market that have ‘higher end’ items that would appeal to shoppers for Valentine’s Day gifts, but are not limited to that,” said Anderson.
Cierra Weatherly, CEO of Williamsburg Winery Distribution Co., added, “I love having local artisans come in. We will have a mix of different artists — jewelers, leatherworks, painters — that have created some really cool things.”
The free event will be held in the front room of the Gabriel Archer Tavern. In addition to vendors, there will be live music, wine, curated cocktails (and mocktails) and a special Tavern menu for those who want to stay for dinner.
“On Mondays, our Michelin star chef, Riccardo Rinaldi, makes his own pasta and creates a special menu. It will be a great time for people to to come hang out and grab something to eat that is budget-friendly but really nice. Or you can come grab a cocktail and appetizer while shopping. It’s really that simple — we just want people to come out and have a great time,” said Weatherly.
Dinner reservations are not required, but are encouraged.
Weatherly and Anderson both say this is the first of many collaborative events planned for Williamsburg Winery.
