NORFOLK — The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command is partnering with the CMA CGM Foundation to support seniors in need this holiday season.
The initiative will provide Thanksgiving meal packages to seniors in shut-in communities.
More than 20 volunteers from CMA CGM and American President Lines will help pack and distribute the meals. Through this collaboration, both organizations are coming together with the goal of making a meaningful impact in the community for the fifth consecutive Thanksgiving, and expect to serve 1,000 individuals.
Giving Across North America takes place on Friday, Nov. 22 from 8 a.m. to noon at The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center at 1401 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk.
The event will feature volunteers from The Salvation Army, CMA CGM, and American President Lines preparing and packaging meals for seniors in need.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Salvation Army and the CMA CGM Foundation’s ongoing partnership and hear firsthand how the collaboration will make a difference in the lives of those it serves right here in Hampton Roads.
