WILLIAMSBURG — Blooms That Brighten, a Williamsburg based organization that brings together volunteers with senior care community residents to create and handcraft flower arrangements, recently received a donation of $1,300 from the latest concert of the Three Jolly Coachmen’s Coffee House concert series.
Since the Coffee House series began in 2022, it has donated a portion of ticket sales and 100% of all drink donations to a Williamsburg area charity.
“It is an honor to be able to help an organization such as Blooms That Brighten, which does so much to improve the lives of senior citizens in our community,” said Greg Davy, a member of the Three Jolly Coachmen, which sings in tribute to the Kingston Trio.
The Coffee House has, to date, donated $15,700 to several Williamsburg-area charities, organizers said, including the Williamsburg House of Mercy, the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg, FISH, Meals On Wheels, Colonial CASA, Faith In Action, the Heritage Humane Society and the local chapter of the USO.
The next Three Jolly Coachmen’s Coffee House concert will be on Friday, Nov. 8, and will feature the Maryland-based Celtic and Nordic group Wherligig.
