WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Area Arts Commission (WAAC) is inviting representatives from interested arts organizations and members of the community to its 2024 forum, “SpringBOARD to Success: Board Development for Nonprofits.”
The event will begin with networking and light refreshments at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 8 at the Stryker Center, and the official program will commence at 9 a.m.
The forum features speaker Cris Wineinger’s expertise in nonprofits to area arts-related organizations, with discussion focusing on board development and planning that will enable nonprofits.
Wineinger has more than 27 years of experience advising nonprofits on all aspects of management and fundraising, according to the City of Williamsburg. She is president of Wineinger and Associates, Ltd., a full-service consulting firm for nonprofits, and is a popular speaker both in Bermuda, where she was born and raised, and the United States.
Wineinger also serves as an executive partner with William & Mary’s Mason School of Business.
“This year, the WAAC will present a forum that is designed to aid arts and cultural organizations as they attract, recruit, educate, and work with board members. The success of any organization depends on the dynamics of good governance, good working board members and their commitment to the organization,” WAAC Chair Thomas Phelps said.
