Peninsula Health Center Closure; Altered Locations and Service Availability

 

UPDATE: Peninsula Health Center Closure; Updates on Locations and Services
Due to an incident which occurred on Thur., March 9, 2023, the Peninsula Health Center (PHC) building, located at 416 J Clyde Morris Blvd. in Newport News remains closed until further notice. All services continue at alternate locations.

The COVID-19 and Immunization Clinics will be moving to Riverside Brentwood Center, 10518 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA 23601, on Mon. April 3, 2023. When facing the building, it is a rectangular building, with two entrances. Please enter the building through the left entrance, as Riverside continues operations on the right side of the building.

On Mon., April 3, 2023, and Tues., April 4, 2023, Family Planning, STI, and Immunization Clinical Services for both Hampton Health District and Peninsula Health District will be closed 10:30am-5pm due to training. The COVID-19 Clinic will still operate during its regularly scheduled time. Additionally, on Thurs., April 6, 2023, and Thurs., April 20, 2023, there will be no COVID-19 and Immunization Clinics from 8am-12pm.

HAMPTON ROADS- The Peninsula Health Center (PHC) building, located at 416 J Clyde Morris Blvd. in Newport News will remain closed until further notice after an incident that occurred Thursday, Mar. 9.

According to a statement released by the Hampton & Peninsula Health Department, a call line is being established to address questions regarding rescheduling, locations, and services. That number has not be released yet.

Peninsula Health District’s operations will be altered as followed:


Family Planning & STI Clinical Services – Family Planning (FP) and STI client appointments for Monday, March 13 (all day) and Tuesday, March 14 (8 a.m.-noon) have been canceled. Appointments will be rescheduled. Beginning Tuesday, March 14, FP and STI services will be redirected to the Hampton Health District (HHD) building, located at 3130 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, Va. 23661.


Immunization Clinical Services – Immunization client appointments for Monday, March 13, (all day) and Tuesday, March 14 (8 a.m.-noon) have been canceled. Appointments will be rescheduled. Beginning Tuesday, March 14, immunization services will be redirected to Riverside Medical Center’s Annex D Building (see map), located at 500 J Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, Va. 23601.


COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic – The COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held at the HHD building, located at 3130 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, Va. 23661, Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-12noon and 1-2:30 p.m.


Vital Records – Vital Records (VR) appointments for Monday, March 13 (all day) have been canceled. Appointments will be rescheduled. Beginning Tuesday,
March 14, VR appointments will be redirected to either the HHD building, located at 3130 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, Va. 23661, or the Williamsburg James City County building, located at 5300 Palmer Lane, Williamsburg, Va. 23188.

Environmental Health – Beginning Tuesday, March 14, individuals seeking permits and/or other Environmental Health appointments, will be redirected to the HHD building, located at 3130 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, Va. 23669, or the Williamsburg- James City County building, located at 5300 Palmer Lane, Williamsburg, Va. 23188.

WIC – Peninsula Health Center WIC client appointments are conducted via phone. For anyone in need of pick-up, beginning Monday, March 13, clients will be redirected to the York/Denbigh WIC building, located at 606 Denbigh Boulevard Suite 304, Newport News, Va. 23608.
